2013 ARTIST GUIDELINES        

FESTIVAL DATES:  
May 3            Application deadline

Oct 5 & 6       Festival - 10am to 6pm daily  
                             
Application Deadline - All applicants must submit a completed Application Package with the $25, non-refundable, Application Fee by May 3, 2013.  

Booth Fee - Full payment is due upon acceptance.  The fee includes the cost of a temporary business license for the City of Issaquah. The 2013 Artist Booth Space Fees are:
$335 for a 10x10 booth space
$385 for a 10x10 corner booth
$670 for a  10x20 booth
$720 for a 10x20 corner booth
$770 for a 10x20 double corner booth
Corner booths allow the Artist to have the front and one or two sides of the booth open and are limited. A corner space can be requested but if one is not available, plan your booth accordingly. 

Previous booth locations are not guaranteed. 
Booth fees are refunded (less a $20 processing fee) if cancellation is received before August 16, 2013. 

Booth sharing is strictly prohibited.

Electricity
-
Electricity is not available for Artist booths and generators must be pre-approved in writing by Festival Office.

Hours of Operation - Festival hours are 10 am – 6 pm, Saturday and Sunday, October 5 and 6, 2013. 

Booths must be open during this time and close promptly at 6 pm.  Streets are re-opened to vehicle traffic in the evening and morning.

Jury Selection
- All applications are juried on quality and originality within each jury category. 
- Past participation does not guarantee acceptance.  
- The Issaquah Salmon Days Festival reserves the right to refuse any application.
- Notification regarding acceptance will be e-mailed to applicants on or about May 31, 2013.  
- A waitlist is established during the jury process. 
- Applications received after the deadline are not eligible for the waitlist.  
Salmon Days does not accept product samples for the jury.
 
Merchandise - Applications are only accepted from Artists who personally handcraft the items they sell and who can be present in their booth for both days of the Festival. 
- Only one (1) product category can be sold in the Vendor’s booth unless in the Greenbelt Gallery or Field of Fun.
- All merchandise must be consistent with the photos submitted with the application and reviewed by the jury.
- Artist applications for imported, mass-produced or commercially manufactured items are not accepted.  
- The Festival reserves the right to close any booth not adhering to these regulations.

Sales Reporting
- Artists are required to report their total gross sales to Salmon Days by October 31, 20123  
This information is used only to evaluate the Festival. It is not reported to any entities or shared with other organizations.  Failure to report can make an artist ineligible for future Salmon Days Festivals.

Sales Tax & Washington State UBI - The Festival purchases a temporary city business license from the City of Issaquah for each artist.  Artists are responsible for collecting, reporting, and paying WA State sales tax under Sales Tax Code #1714.  Washington State requires a UBI (Uniform Business Identifier). To obtain a UBI, call Trina Grey at (206) 727-5326 or Fax: (206) 727-5319, email: 
TrinaG@dor.wa.gov  or website: www.dor.wa.gov. This applies even if you are from out of WA state. 

Security - Booth structure and contents, including inventory, are the sole responsibility of the Artist. The Festival, Chamber of Commerce and the City of Issaquah do not assume any responsibility for injury to persons, loss or damage to any property of the Artists, including theft, accidents or acts of God.

Restrictions - Artists are not allowed to  ‘rove’ with their merchandise at any time.
- No alcoholic beverages, loud music, televisions or ‘hawking’ are allowed within or in the vicinity of your booth.
- The Issaquah Salmon Days Festival name, logo, and theme are trademarked.  Any use must be pre-approved by the Festivals Office.
- Artists understand they cannot sell or promote other artists work in their booths.
- Artists must be present in their booth both days of the festival.  Representatives or agents are not allowed.

Set Up & Take Down
 - Artists will be advised of the load-in time (early on Saturday morning, Oct. 5) after acceptance. Set-up must be complete and vehicles must be removed from the street by 8:30 am on both Saturday and Sunday.  Booths must be set up and open for business by 10 am.  Late arrivals must walk in their supplies.  Load-out begins after 6:30 pm on Sunday, Oct. 6.  
- Vehicles are allowed access as soon as the Issaquah Police Dept. declares that it is safe to open the streets.  All booths, vehicles and vendor debris must be removed from the Festival grounds by 8pm, Sunday, Oct. 6. - If booth area is not left clean at the end of the Festival, vendor may be charged a $100 Booth Clean-Up Fee.

INDEMNITY AND WAIVER
The APPLICANT shall indemnify and hold the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE  (Festivals Office) and CITY OF ISSAQUAH and its agents, employees and/or officers, harmless from and shall process and defend at its own expense any and all claims, demands, suits, at law or equity, actions, penalties, loss, damages, or costs, of whatsoever kind or nature, brought against  the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Festivals Office) and CITY OF ISSAQUAH arising out of, or in connection with, or incident to, the execution of this Agreement and/or APPLICANT’S performance or failure to perform any aspect of this Agreement;  provided, however, that if such claims are caused by, or result from, the concurrent negligence of the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Festival Office) and CITY OF ISSAQUAH, its agents, employees, and/or officers, this indemnity provisions shall be valid and enforceable only to the extent of the negligence of the APPLICANT; and provided further, that nothing herein shall require the APPLICANT to hold harmless or defend the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Festivals Office) and CITY OF ISSAQUAH, its agents, employees, and/or officers for damages or loss caused by the CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (Festivals Office) or CITY OF ISSAQUAH’S sole negligence.

The APPLICANT expressly agrees that the indemnification provided herein constitutes the contractor’s waiver of immunity under Title 51 R.C.W., for the purposes of this Agreement.  This waiver has been mutually negotiated by the parties.  The provisions of this section shall survive the expiration or termination of this Agreement.
